
Doctors for the NHS is asking for entries to its Peter Fisher Essay Prize 2025.
The prize is open to all resident doctors and closes on 31 July.
The essay should be under 2,000 words, excluding references, and use the title:
‘How can medical education be improved for the benefit of the patient?’.
Essays will be judged on originality and flair, clarity of writing and relevance to the topic.
Shortlisted candidates may be asked to attend a short viva via Zoom to discuss their essay with the judges.
First prize is £500 and second prize is £200.
Winning and runners-up essays will be published in the DFNHS newsletter and website, and submitted for consideration for publication by the Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine.
