TV GP Dr Punam Krishan to speak at DAUK conference

DAUK is delighted to announce Dr Punam Krishan will join us at the Jenny Vaughan Memorial Conference.

Held in memory of our former chair, Dr Jenny Vaughan OBE, the FREE conference will feature presentations and discussions on the causes she was passionate about.

A practising NHS GP and media medic based in Glasgow, Dr Krishan will be part of a panel discussion on working with the media.

Media work

Dr Krishan has extensive experience of working in the media. She is currently a resident GP on BBC Morning Live, and holds regular phone-in surgeries on BBC Radio Scotland.

As a mother of two young children, Dr Krishan has a specialist interest in maternal and family health as well as mental health. She set up the Medic Mum podcast during the pandemic with a fellow GP mother. The podcast was shortlisted for Best Podcast at the Glomama Awards 2022.

​Dr Krishan’s writing credits include Vogue, Hello, and Grazia. She regularly reports on health news on TV, radio and in newspapers. And she is a columnist for the i News, and was shortlisted for the British Journalism Awards 2021 for Comment Journalism.

She wrote the children’s book How to be a doctor and other life-saving jobs‍ and released her second book You and Your Body in January, and took part in last year’s Strictly Come Dancing.

DAUK conference

The conference takes place at the Wellcome Collective in London from 9am to 5pm on Saturday 17 May. Imran Khan KC and Dr Rachel Clarke are among those who will be talking at the conference.

Arrival and registration is from 8am, with the introduction starting at 9am.

The conference is free but donations and contributions can be made via our crowd funder. Please support our work.
