We are delighted to announce that DAUK members are playing key roles in this year’s TEDxNHS Reconnected.
It’s the first live event since 2019, to spark conversation and spread great ideas through the power of storytelling. Eleven fantastic new speakers will share their stories from the TEDxNHS stage, including our previous chair and current ‘Learn Not Blame’ lead Dr Jenny Vaughan, who will be talking about how we need to tackle the ‘Blame Culture’ in Healthcare. You can look forward to a full day of TEDxNHS magic, including TED talks, poetry readings and performances.

Dr Jenny Vaughan, DAUK Learn Not Blame Co-Lead
Dr Jenny Vaughan is a speaker at this year’s TEDxNHS Reconnected event.
Dr Vaughan is a consultant neurologist and is a leading campaigner for reforming the law on gross negligence manslaughter when applied to those working in healthcare. She is an executive member of the Harmed Patients Alliance and is a current council member of the Royal College of Physicians (RCP) and the Medical Women’s Federation (MWF). Dr Vaughan has campaigned to tackle discrimination in the NHS and Independent Healthcare sector, for which she has been recognised by both British Association of Physicians of Indian Origin and British International Doctor’s Association.
Dr Yasotha Browne, DAUK EDI lead
Dr Browne is a TEDxNHS coach for Yvonne Newbold’s talk this year and was previously on the 2020/21 communications team.
Dr Browne has co-coached Yvonne Newbold’s talk for this year. Founder of Newbold Hope, Yvonne Newbold MBE is an expert-by-experience in Learning Disability and Autism thanks to her son Toby and her unwavering curiosity for best practice. In her TEDXNHS talk she talks about her struggles of parenting and the harm of knowledge as well as support deficits in what is needed to help care for SEND children that led her to eventually create her own foundation to fill the gap in resource that she and Toby experienced. Newbold Hope provides help support and training to parents and professionals who care for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and young people who behave in difficult and dangerous ways.
