DAUK is delighted to host an evening with Dr Beth Lewis, an “F12” doctor, working in some of the most remote swamp communities in Papua New Guinea. She took an F3 year out whilst deciding on a future career path and nine years on, believes her speciality is not being a specialist! As the only doctor serving a catchment area of 50,000+ people in remote communities, there is not a week that goes by that she doesn’t encounter something she has never dealt with before.
Dr Beth Lewis also works at Samban Clinic, an NGO supported clinic where her role is primarily teaching, training and upskilling the four local community health workers to better serve people who travel up to two weeks by foot and canoe to access medical services.
We can’t wait to hear about her adventures and work in the clinic, and hope you’ll join us for her talk and Q&A!!
