Organisers of DAUK’s screening of the National Emergency Briefing Film say they are ‘delighted’ with how it was received – and are already planning a second showing.
The Doctors’ Association UK and the Greener Health and Sustainability Project hosted an online showing of the film for DAUK members and healthcare professionals interested in organising their own screenings.
The powerful film explores the impact of the climate and ecological emergency, and the urgent action needed to address it. The screening was followed by a Q&A session.
People’s Emergency Briefing
Dr Matt Lee, DAUK’s sustainability lead, said the response to the event had been overwhelmingly positive.
He said: “We were delighted by how enthusiastic everyone was following the screening.
“People found the film incredibly powerful and thought-provoking, and there was a real sense of motivation to take action and start important conversations in healthcare settings and in local screenings or hosting your own in your workplace.”
DAUK is planning to hold another screening of the film later this year.
Great British Green Week
The association is also encouraging doctors, medical students, and other healthcare professionals to organise their own screenings during Great British Green Week, which starts on 8 June.
