These Attendee Terms were last updated on 26 Nov, 2022.

These Attendee Terms set out the legal contract that applies when you, as a private individual, register your interest to attend the event that you have selected (“Event”) via the Booking Form. Details about the Event including the dates (“Event Dates”) and the venue location (“Venue”) are available on the specific Event page.

They apply together with our Website Terms of Use, which set out how you may use our website www.dauk.org (the “Website”), and our Privacy Policy, which sets out how we will use your data.

We’ve worked hard to make these Attendee Terms easy to understand and avoid legal jargon. Please read them carefully because they are legally binding.

Do you need to meet any requirements before completing the booking form?

By completing the booking form on our Website you are confirming that:

· you are legally capable of entering into binding contracts; and

· you are at least 18 years old. When is our contract formed?

After completing the booking form, you will receive an acknowledgement email from us. Except where you are a Speaker, your contract with us is formed when we take your payment and not at the time you complete the Booking Form.

If your Booking Form cannot be accepted for any reason, we will let you know why by email as soon as reasonably practicable, and you will be refunded.

How and when will your payment be taken?

The admittance fee will be taken at the time we accept your Booking Form. The price you pay to attend the Event is as specified on our Website when you submit your Booking Form, except for in cases of obvious error.

If you are eligible for a discount, please provide evidence when prompted to do so on the Booking Form.

We may update our prices at any time, but any changes will not affect attendees who have received an acknowledgement email from us.

Payment must be by credit or debit card. We will automatically charge the bank account details provided on your Booking Form. If the charge is declined, we will ask you to provide an alternative payment method. Your payment details are stored securely by a third party, and will be subject to the third party’s terms of use which are found at [HYPERLINK]. Further details are set out in our Privacy Policy. We do not have access to view your full credit or debit card details.

What should you know about the Event?

It may be necessary for reasons beyond our control to change the content and timing of the programme, the speakers, the date, or the Venue at any time prior to the event date.

It is our policy to give the fullest freedom to all Attendees to express their opinions. However, Attendees are responsible for the content of their respective sessions and any spoken comments which they may make, and have agreed that their content does not contain anything which is unlawful or which infringes the statutory or common law rights of any third parties.

The opinions expressed by Attendees do not necessarily represent our views, and we take no responsibility for any content or spoken comments by them.

If you are connected with us (as a company law director, contractual member, employee, consultant, or volunteer) you must at all times comply with our anti-bullying and anti-harassment policy, including at the Event.

What can you expect from us?

We will comply with the laws and obtain any consents and/or licences we need in order to run the Event, including in relation to health and safety and crown security measures at the Venue.

What about the Venue?

You should make your own arrangements to attend the Event. If you are unsure about how to attend the Venue, please refer to the Venue’s website: [WEBSITE]. You should also comply at all times with the Venue’s rules (a copy is found at [HYPERLINK] and attached a schedule 1 to these Attendee Terms).

We are not liable if you can’t attend the Event, for example due to adverse weather conditions, travel disruption or medical reasons.

We do our best to make sure the Venue is available to be accessed for the duration of the Event but we can’t guarantee that it will meet your specific requirements or that the Venue’s insurance arrangements will cover your specific risks (including in relation to damage, liability, cancellation or curtailment).

What happens if something goes wrong?

If we breach these Attendee Terms, our liability is limited to a full refund of the package you purchased. We accept no liability for:

· injury or damage to persons or property at the Event; and/or

· any actual or alleged indirect loss or consequential loss of profit, loss business, loss of earnings, business interruption, or loss of business opportunity.

We do not exclude or limit our liability to you to the extent it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or breach of your consumer rights.

What happens if we have to postpone or cancel the Event?

We will not be liable if the Event has to be postponed or cancelled for reasons beyond our reasonable control. This could include (but isn’t limited to) an epidemic or pandemic, terrorist attack, any law of action taken by a government or public authority, fire, explosion, accidence, labour or trade dispute, illness, non-performance by the Venue (or other supplies or subcontractors), or any interruption or failure of utility services.

Will we refuse or remove people from the Event?

If someone does not comply with these Attendee Terms, or if we think they could disrupt the Event, we may refuse admission or ask the Venue to remove them from the Event. Can you transfer your ticket, or receive a refund?

Once you’ve received an acknowledgement email, we are unable to transfer your ticket to someone else or provide you with a refund.

Are we photographing and filming at the Event?

Yes, we are also livestreaming to those who are attending online.

By agreeing these Attendee Terms, you acknowledge that we may use the photographs and recordings for the purposes of promoting The Doctors’ Association UK in any media. This includes print and digital media formats such as web pages, email marketing, posters, banners and social media content. The images and recordings may be made available throughout the world.

If you would prefer not to be photographed or filmed, please let us know at [email address] and make yourself known to a member of our team before entering the Event. We will try our best to ensure you are not photographed or filmed and that any photographs or recordings in which you are invertedly captured (other than the livestream) are deleted or edited so you cannot be identified.

If you are happy to be photographed and filmed, you won’t be paid a fee – and we will have the right to edit the content and will own all copyright in the photographs and recording. We do not authorise you to take photographs and videos during the event.

What are your data protection rights?

The protection of personal data rights is important to us.

To learn more about how we’ll use your personal data, please read our Privacy Policy. If you have any questions, please submit them via our Contact Page.

What else should you know?

We are able to amend these Attendee Terms from time to time, however you will be subject to the Terms in force when you received the acknowledgment email from us. You should consider printing or saving a copy of these Attendee Terms for future reference.

These Attendee Terms do not give rise to any rights under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 to enforce any term of these Attendee Terms. The rights of the parties to rescind or vary these Attendee Terms are not subject to the consent of any other person.

These Attendee Terms are governed by English law and you can bring legal proceedings in the English courts.

How do you submit feedback or a complaint?

We welcome any feedback you may have in respect of the Event and we will take complaints very seriously. If you would like to contact us, head to our Contact Page.
