Fighting for the future of General Practice

Our General Practice campaign was formed during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic to address the growing disconnect between policymakers and the realities faced by GPs on the frontline. We advocate for improved general practice conditions and patient-centered care.

Your GP, Here for You

We are calling for a new patient-centered GP contract that moves away from the current bureaucratic “tick box” approach. The current GP contract is 257 pages long and creates barriers to the compassionate, holistic care that both patients and doctors want to see.

Our campaign advocates for a healthcare system that prioritizes genuine patient relationships over administrative burden, allowing GPs to focus on what matters most: caring for their patients.

Why Can’t I See My GP?

We challenge misleading media narratives about general practice availability. The reality is that GPs are working harder than ever, but systemic issues including workforce shortages, administrative burden, and underfunding are creating access problems that affect both patients and doctors.

Our Work

  • MP briefings on primary care crisis
  • Media engagement to share the reality of general practice
  • Policy advocacy for sustainable general practice
  • Supporting GPs facing workplace pressures

We believe general practice is the cornerstone of the NHS, and we are committed to fighting for the resources, respect, and reforms needed to ensure it can thrive for future generations.
