General Practice

Our GP committee was formed in the early days of the Covid-19 pandemic when we realised that general practice is completely misunderstood.

Campaigning for General Practice

The pandemic highlighted a huge disconnect between policymakers and the day-to-day reality for GPs on the ground. The media narratives around general practice being closed drove us to speak up and voice the concerns we have for both our profession, and for patients using the NHS. Almost five years on, we continue to speak up. We still share the same drive and passion to advocate for general practice – united in the belief that things can and should be better.

Your GP, Here for You

Doctors Association UK is calling for a new patient centred GP contract. The current one is 257 pages! Patients and their GPs need a new contract that really delivers and provides patient centred care away from tick boxes. It’s essential we use the pool of evidence and information gathered by reports like ‘The future of General Practice’. Over 350 pieces of written submissions and days of oral evidence. ‘Your GP, here for you’ inspires us all to think differently. We have been speaking to patients, NHS GPs and leaders, and they love it!
