DAUK’s Dr Sarah Jacques shared her powerful story of burning out as a GP on national breakfast television.

Dr Jacques, a member of the Doctors’ Association UK’s (DAUK) GP committee, was interviewed for a BBC Breakfast feature about mental health support for doctors.

She told viewers there was still ‘a stigma’ around mental health in the profession.

“With health care professionals, we don’t consider ourselves to be human,” Dr Jacques said. “To admit we’re struggling is quite a hard thing to do, so I think people tend to hide it a lot and keep it to themselves.”
