Would you like to join the DAUK committee?

The Doctors’ Association UK is looking for a new Secretary. We are an independent, non-partisan lobbying group of doctor activists and I like to think we are a thoroughly nice bunch! We are looking for someone passionate about advocating for doctors who would like to bolster our campaigns. This may include lobbying institutions such as the GMC, meeting with members of parliament, taking a role in our flagship campaign #learnnotblame and advocating for our profession via the media. We are hoping to extend membership to all UK doctors in the near future (watch this space!) and as Secretary you would also look after our membership lists.

The role is a significant time commitment, we do this all for free (and will always remain strictly non-profit) and in peak times during campaigns can take several hours a week! But we’ve been able to achieve a significant amount through hard graft and we hope that any new doctor coming on board will get as much out of it as they put in.

Applications particularly welcomed from GPs or consultants but the role is open to any UK doctor.

If you would like to know more about the role please email us at [email protected]. To apply please email us a short statement about why you like the job, and why you are the right person to join us! Deadline for applications: October 1st.

Yours,

Dr Samantha Batt-Rawden
